Cuffe Parade Park
This serene garden near the World Trade Centre, Colaba, is one of my favorite sunset spots — and luckily, it’s right next to my home in the Cuffe Parade slums. Despite being surrounded by some of Mumbai’s most expensive sea-facing apartments, we feel truly fortunate to live in such a beautiful corner of the city.
The garden offers a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Arabian Sea, with Nariman Point to the right and Malabar Hill straight ahead. It’s not a large space, but its long cement seating stretch — almost a kilometer — gives everyone a perfect front-row seat to the glowing horizon.

Badhwar Park
Right through a narrow lane between the big boats lies Machimaar Nagar, the serene heart of Colaba’s fishing community. Home to over 250 Koli families, it’s a quiet harbor where boats rest in shallow waters. Though the area has aged and been overlooked, its raw charm remains untouched.
At the end of the shore, the soothing sound of waves fills your mind with peace as you watch the sunset unfold — the slum houses of Machimaar Nagar on one side, the towering Mantralay on the other. As the sky transforms into shades of gold and crimson, each moment becomes more mesmerizing — a tranquil escape where the sea, sky, and silence meet.
